Head of Transformation and Change Practice

Job summary

Developing a consistent approach to transformational change within the Trust and with wider system partners will be a key part in delivery of the Trust's ambition to become the best Rural District General Hospital and will support in the delivery of the Trust's strategic ambition and financial strategy and initiatives.

As we move into a Group model, we have an aspiration to further develop our Transformation capacity and capability. We are working at Group level to develop a robust and sustainable model of transformation delivery. In time, the Transformation Team will consist of a number of functions, including; the Programme Management Office (PMO), responsible for monitoring, reporting and driving the clinical and corporate directorates to deliver projects and programmes across the Trust and ensuring appropriate programme governance oversight and assurance; and the Transformation team responsible for programme management of complex change programmes (as set out in the Trust's transformation programme) working alongside the Senior Responsible Owners (SROs).

This role is responsible for delivery at both Trust and Group level. We are looking for an experienced leader who can empower the team and deliver key priorities during a period of significant change.

Main duties of the job

  • Leadership of the transformation team - Working closely with wider transformation and change management colleagues at all levels.
  • Leadership of Change Practice - Developing and continuously improving the Trust's approach to professional change management, including joint workforce development with system partners to aid recruitment and retention of permanent staff.
  • Planning and scheduling- Ensure systems are in place to enable effective project and programme planning and scheduling.
  • Monitoring and reporting- Manage project/programme controls, reporting project/programme status. Developing performance reports and maintaining and monitoring consolidated action logs, progress updates, risks, issues, dependencies and milestones.
  • Admin- Ensure organisational tasks are carried out efficiently. Manage compliance of the programme against quality, financial, and operational controls. Support the general running of the programme management office.
  • Resources- Assisting in the development and maintenance of programme management tools and documents.
  • Stakeholder- Manage and engage with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Financial control - Track project savings and contribute to the project/programme business case where applicable.
  • Risks and Issues- Identification and monitoring of programme and project risks, issues and interdependencies

The role will operate at Trust and Group level.
