Job summary
The Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King's Lynn are looking for an enthusiastic individuals, to take on an exciting job opportunity in the CT department within Radiology.
We are looking for staff with the current skillset to work in CT. We will also consider training band 5's with a desire to learn CT.
This is an ideal opportunity to consolidate any existing skills, as well as the potential to learn new skills with help and support of experienced CT trained Radiographers and Radiologists.
You will be responsible for undertaking all forms of imaging, ranging from standard non-contrast/staging (contrast) scans, to the more complex angiography studies (including cardiac imaging) and CT Virtual Colonography. Training and support will be offered where required.
Main duties of the job
To be able to work autonomously, adhering to the Code of Practice of the College of Radiographers.
Must be HealthCare Professions Council (HCPC) registered and adhere to all Trust and departmental policies and guidelines.
Maintain professional standards by Continued Professional Development
Advise and assist junior radiographers to maintain appropriate professional standards.
Respond to periodic review of good practice through the department system. (Clinical Audit)
Support and assist the Team Leader in CT scanning in maintaining an environment for staff development and thereby participating in clinical supervision.
Deputise for the Team Leader in CT Imaging when required.
Provide mentorship to new staff (induction programme).
Be actively involved in the training, assessment and clinical supervision of under-graduate student radiographers on clinical placement.
Delegate appropriate tasks and supervise the multi-disciplinary team to achieve the desired quality of patient care.
Provide leadership and clinical supervision to the radiographer team when required
Be able to plan and prioritise own and department's workload to ensure the most efficient use of resources and service delivery.
Record staff absence in accordance with Trust policy when required.
