Job summary

We are moving towards a new Integrated Care standard, and our primary role will be to ensure our data is of the highest quality in preparation for the migration to a new Electronic Patient Record (EPR) system and that our staff are confident in their data entry responsibilities.

The Trust seeks two Band 4 Data Quality Administrators to support the Data Quality team in improving the data quality to the highest standard.

This post will play a key role in supporting the overall data quality function including administration, data input and monitoring to help maintain key national and local data quality standards.

Main duties of the job

  • Support the operational and business needs. This includes the introduction of new and developing services, new mandated datasets and information returns
  • Maintain data consistency and integrity across all Queen Elizabeth Hospital systems in order to meet internal and external reporting requirements
  • Data cleansing, eliminate/correct errors, remove duplicate records, ensure data is relevant and complete
  • Liaising with training colleagues on identified data quality issues to ensure training course are adapted to improve compliance and understanding, with accompanying user guides as required
  • Develop a good understanding of data quality issues and ensure systems are in place to identify potential issues early, report them and work to understand and resolve
  • Propose changes to improve existing systems in terms of quality, timeliness and reliability of data
  • Identify and Support staff in better data quality entry

Essential

  • Diploma level qualification in Administrative related field (or equivalent level of experience)
  • English Language and Maths GCSE Standard
  • ECDL or equivalent experience e.g. advanced experience of a range of IT packages such as Microsoft Applications, Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Basic T-SQL skills

Desirable

  • Basic Microsoft PowerBI skills
  • Intermediate T-SQL skills

Experience

  • Experience of data handling including sourcing, collecting, and interrogating of information
  • Experience of interaction with all levels of staff

  • Experience of patient pathways from receipt of referral to first treatment
  • Previous NHS clerical/administration experience
