Physiotherapist – Pain Management

Information:

This job is now closed

Job summary

This is an excellent opportunity for a Band 6 or Band 7 Physiotherapist to further develop their career and to become part of the Pain Management Service.

You will be required to work alongside the existing Band 7 and 6 physiotherapists in the development of physiotherapy service within the Pain Management team.

The Pain Management team is based at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, King's Lynn and comprises of Consultant Anaesthetists, Specialist Pain Management Nurses, Clinical Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Therapy Assistants and Health Care Assistants. In addition, there is administrative support from secretaries.

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital is based in the beautiful County of Norfolk with easy access to beaches and the countryside. The Pain Management Service offers a friendly, supportive work environment and is particularly known for its close multidisciplinary team working.

Main duties of the job

The focus of this job is the evidence based multidisciplinary management of patients affected by chronic pain, including providing specialist individual and group treatments. An approved acupuncture qualification would be beneficial but not essential. There are opportunities for professional development within the workplace, including provision of regular supervision.

The Physiotherapy Service, alongside the Occupational Therapy Service, is part of an integrated Rehabilitation Service. It aims to provide a progressive, forward-thinking approach to patient care and supports staff in personal development, continued education and training. Staff in the Pain Management Service have excellent clinical and teaching backgrounds, facilitating the development of skills and knowledge.

We are keen to promote collaborative working and to develop staff within a supportive and friendly environment. Staff benefits include on-site accommodation, subsidised catering and a pension scheme.

About us

There's never been a more exciting time to join TeamQEH. We're working on a once in a generation opportunity to build a new state-of-the-art hospital to open in 2030 and we are also carrying out on one of the biggest pieces of digital transformation work we've ever undertaken.

Our new electronic patient record (EPR) will replace paper-based patient records from 2026 and will lead to better, safer, joined-up care at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital and beyond.

At The QEH we provide a comprehensive range of specialist, acute, obstetrics and community-based services to around 331,000 people across west and north Norfolk, North Cambs and South Lincs.

We are an ambitious organisation that upholds our values of kindness, wellness and fairness. We strive for continuous quality improvement, recently demonstrated in our 2024 CQC maternity inspection rating our services as 'Good', and we are proud to be a place to learn and grow through recognised learning and apprenticeships.

We recognise and reward our 4,000 staff and volunteers, priding ourselves on a community atmosphere and positive team spirit. We have approx. 530 beds across 33 wards and have newly built education and training facilities, a range of modern award-winning centres alongside a talented team of people ready to give you a warm welcome. We love working here and think you will too.
