Job summary
The Paediatric Advanced Nurse Practitioner performs an advanced autonomous clinical role within speciality to provide a high standard of family centred, evidence based, nursing care for children, young people and their families.
You will have an MSc Advanced Clinical Practice in the relevant specialist clinical field, be a registered independent prescriber, with evidence of continuing professional development, with RCEM ACP, HEE or RCN credentialing.
There is an expectation for the post holder to be an approved mentor, assessor clinical supervisor and demonstrate leadership in the role.
Main duties of the job
The APNP will perform a comprehensive assessment of child and families health care needs for children presenting with undifferentiated presentations: utilising advanced clinical skills and higher level autonomous decision making to assess, diagnose, plan and implement and evaluate care delivery according to changing health needs.
The APNP will arrange appropriate management and treatment plans for children and young people, including admission to inpatient provision or facilitate an efficient discharge and follow up., develops policies, guidelines and action plans.
The APNP supports the multi disciplinary teams in service developments
