Job summary
The Trust is looking for a permanent Head of Employee Relations and HRBPs to manage the Employee Relations function for the Trust including all aspects of ER, Trade Union liaison and relations and Divisional HR support through the Divisional HRBPs
You will need to provide expert analysis of highly complex employment issues where no precedents exist, interpreting employment legislation and case law and providing guidance to the ER and HRBP team and the Trust's managers and directors. You will also be responsible for coordinating and conducting impartial and objective investigations within strict timescales.
This role will also deputise for the Deputy Director of People as required, in conjunction with the other 'Head of' within the HR function.
Main duties of the job
Main duties include:
To ensure the ER and HRBP Team provides consistent and sound HR advice and support to managers on all matters relating to the employment of staff.
To be an active member of the assigned Department's Management Team, contributing to the achievement of the Divisions strategy, business plan and operational objectives.
To advise and support members of the ER and HRBP team, Trust managers and staff on the interpretation and application of the Trust's HR policies and procedures, NHS conditions of service and employment law. The advice given will reflect current legislation and best practice.
To provide advice and guidance on all organisational change directives.
To assist and support managers through all stages of HR procedures, including participating in investigations, advising on HR procedures on panels at hearings and appeal hearings, advising Chairs of panels as appropriate.
To provide high level support in the management of poor performance, misconduct and sickness absence issues in accordance with the Trust's procedures and provide a focus on health and wellbeing and attendance.
