Job summary
We are looking to appoint an experienced and highly motivated individual to lead and develop the cardiac rehabilitation team and service.
To have the responsibility for the line management of the nursing team and work closely with the medical/cardiology teams for service improvement.
Main duties of the job
We require a nurse with a cardiology background who can demonstrate experience in different settings. The successful candidate would be expected to provide expert support, advice and education to patients and their families. This would cover both inpatient and outpatient cardiac rehabilitation services and would need to be able to undertake this in a group and individual setting. You would also be an expert resource to other health professionals across the multidisciplinary team.
We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills, which are vital to the role and you would need to be able to demonstrate these at interview. We work as part of a multidisciplinary team and have good liaison both locally and regionally. We would also expect you to be flexible and adaptable to the needs of the service and fellow team members.
About us
The Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) King's Lynn is West Norfolk has a superb unspoilt coastline with pretty villages, all with their own individual charm. The medieval port of King's Lynn has some very interesting architecture.
We provide a comprehensive range of specialist and general acute services to around 331,000 people across West and North Norfolk, in addition to parts of Breckland, Cambridgeshire and South Lincolnshire. We have more than 4,000 staff and volunteers and approximately 500 beds on a single site. Some specialist services and clinics are provided in community facilities, such as the North Cambridgeshire hospital in Wisbech. We work in partnership with neighbouring hospitals for the provision of tertiary services.
In February 2022 the QEH the Care Quality Commission rated the Trust as 'Good' in all of the core services they inspected, and recommended the Trust moves out of the recovery support system (formerly special measures).

Provide specialist informed advice for coronary heart disease patients and their families. To act as a specialist resource within both the acute Trust (ward staff, medical staff, directorate management, corporate nursing, PAMS.) and the local Primary Care Trusts (community nursing staff, coronary heart disease co-ordinators, GPs, service managers). To organise and manage own caseload and practice. To provide inpatient advice and support to coronary heart disease patients post myocardial infarction. To assess and identify suitable patients to attend the outpatient rehabilitation programme.
Demonstrate active involvement in the Trust's clinical governance programme by taking responsibility for initiating and promoting evidence-based practice within the specialty. To promote continuous development in clinical practice and deliver patient care, encourage innovation, improvement and appropriate change in service delivery To manage resources within agreed budget. To provide a suitable and stimulating learning environment for students and for the ongoing professional development of registered staff. To maintain communication networks at all appropriate clinical and managerial levels. Support the process of clinical supervision and reflective practice to promote continual improvement in both personal development and in the clinical services provided
