Job summary
We have a very proactive cardiac rehabilitation team who are dedicated and passionate about their speciality. A vacancy has arisen within this existing team so we require another nurse to join us. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, motivated and committed to cardiology. Although we are a small team, it is a very supportive team.
We require a nurse with a cardiology background who can demonstrate experience in different settings. The successful candidate would be expected to provide expert support, advice and education to patients and their families. This would cover both inpatient and outpatient cardiac rehabilitation services and would need to be able to undertake this in a group and individual setting. You would also be an expert resource to other health professionals across the multidisciplinary team.
We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills, which are vital to the role and you would need to be able to demonstrate these at interview. We work as part of a multidisciplinary team and have good liaison both locally and regionally. We would also expect you to be flexible and adaptable to the needs of the service and fellow team members.
Main duties of the job
This role will be hospital based and provide both inpatient and outpatient care. The inpatient care would involve assessing acute admissions and providing clarity of diagnosis. It would also involve providing cardiac rehab support as an inpatient. We work closely with other departments within the Trust and the cardiology team.
We provide telephone follow up support to patients after discharge and we also run an outpatient cardiac rehab programme on the hospital site.
Please note due to high volume of applications for some posts, this post may close before the displayed closing date. We recommend that you apply for this role as soon as possible.
