An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic individual to join the Surgery and Critical Care Divisional Management team at Sheffield Children's Hospital as a Waiting list co-ordinator.The appointee would be managed by the Waiting List Service Co-ordinator in Surgery & Critical Care and will work closely with the Consultants, Operational Support Managers, other Operational Managers & Performance team. Having the ability to speak directly to families in a professional manner to arrange the patient's operation dates is essential.

The successful applicant will need to have an excellent knowledge of organisational and information management, good interpersonal skills and be willing to communicate with hospital staff at all levels. The applicant needs to be motivated to work to tight deadlines and manage competing priorities.

Main duties of the job

Reporting into the Operational Manager; Theatres, some of your responsibilities will include:

Build and maintain strong working relationships with clinical and administrative teams to support smooth patient pathways. Manage and monitor waiting lists to ensure timely, efficient, and accurate scheduling of patients. Allocate admission dates in line with clinical priorities and service capacity. Coordinate arrangements for patients attending for surgery, ensuring all details are communicated and organised effectively.
