Reporting to the Senior Pharmacy Technician, your responsibilities will include:

  • Work across a variety of wards and departments, delivering ward pharmacy services, offering advice, and supplying relevant guidelines, and up-to-date information to support ward nursing staff.

  • Participate in the medicines management service, including assessing the availability and suitability of patients' own medicines, and referring non-standard prescriptions to the relevant authority.

  • Participate in the discharge planning process, ensuring the efficient and accurate provision of medicines for patients to take home, including providing appropriate patient counselling.

  • Contribute to the Medicines Reconciliation service on inpatient wards, ensuring accurate medication histories.

  • Work with the inpatient dispensary team, providing Accuracy Checking cover when needed.
