Join our dedicated team as a Tobacco Treatment & MECC Advisor and help improve the health and wellbeing of patients aged 12+ and their families.

As a key member of our small, dynamic team, you'll play a vital role in supporting patients and families on their journey to better health. You'll deliver tobacco treatment interventions and Make Every Contact Count (MECC) conversations, helping individuals make meaningful behaviour changes that matter to them.

About You

  • Educated to GCSE (or equivalent) grade C or above in English and Maths. NVQ level 3 in Health care (or equivalent). Smoking Cessation Training Level 2 or willing to undertake within 3 months of starting in post.
  • A compassionate and proactive approach to patient care

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Confident user of Microsoft Package

Main duties of the job

Reporting into the Healthy Hospital Programme, your responsibilities will include

  • Provide tobacco treatment support to patients and families on the ward

  • Deliver MECC interventions to promote healthier choices

  • Encourage and support staff to routinely screen for smoking status

  • Act as a positive role model, championing the importance of tobacco treatment

  • Assist with administrative duties to support the smooth running of the service
