An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our dynamic Paediatric Critical Care Unit (PCCU) as a Band 6 Staff Nurse. We're looking for a compassionate and accountable professional who shares our Trust values and is committed to delivering excellence, equality, diversity, and inclusion in every aspect of care.
As a key member of the PCCU team, you'll provide high-quality nursing care to children aged 0-16 (and occasionally up to 18) within our High Dependency and Intensive Care Units. You'll work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams--both within and beyond the Trust--to ensure seamless, holistic care for our patients.

Main duties of the job
You will report to the Band 7 Sister/Charge Nurse, and some of your responsibilities will include:

Deliver high-quality clinical care and act as a role model on shift

Plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care to maintain excellence

Support the development and daily management of the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit

Lead practice improvement and professional development projects

Coordinate unit activity under guidance from senior nursing staff

Team lead on the High Dependency Unit (HDU)

Hold and respond to the Trust Emergency bleep
