An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our dynamic Paediatric Critical Care Unit (PCCU) as a Band 6 Staff Nurse. We're looking for a compassionate and accountable professional who shares our Trust values and is committed to delivering excellence, equality, diversity, and inclusion in every aspect of care.

As a key member of the PCCU team, you'll provide high-quality nursing care to children aged 0-16 (and occasionally up to 18) within our High Dependency and Intensive Care Units. You'll work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams--both within and beyond the Trust--to ensure seamless, holistic care for our patients.

About You:

  • RN Child (RSCN)

  • Mentor/Assessor Course Relevant ICU/HDU course

  • Several years staffing experience within paediatrics critical care

Main duties of the job

You will report to the Band 7 Sister/Charge Nurse, and some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Deliver high-quality clinical care and act as a role model on shift

  • Plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care to maintain excellence

  • Support the development and daily management of the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit

  • Lead practice improvement and professional development projects

  • Coordinate unit activity under guidance from senior nursing staff

  • Team lead on the High Dependency Unit (HDU)

  • Hold and respond to the Trust Emergency bleep
