Junior Clinical Fellow in Paediatric Surgery

Fixed Term: 6 months

Join our dynamic Paediatric Surgery team on the middle grade rota at ST1-2 level. This 2nd on-call post offers hands-on clinical experience and exposure to a wide range of paediatric cases.

The post does not have educational approval from the Postgraduate Dean, but the post holders will have the same teaching and training opportunities alongside five other Higher Specialist Trainees and three other Core Surgical Trainees.

We're looking for enthusiastic, committed doctor ready to grow in a fast-paced, supportive environment.

Must be available to start October/ November 2025.

Main duties of the job

Reporting into Paediatric Surgery Clinical Lead , your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing comprehensive care for newborns and children with congenital anomalies and a range of surgical conditions.

  • Supporting the Neonatal Surgical Unit, a designated Regional Centre managing over 150 new cases annually. This includes critical involvement in pre-operative evaluation, surgical intervention, and post-operative intensive care.

  • Delivering general paediatric surgical services across a broad spectrum of specialties such as Urology, Gastrointestinal Surgery, Thoracic Surgery, and Paediatric Oncology, with a strong focus on minimally invasive techniques.
