Fixed Term Role | Part Time

We are looking for someone to join our dedicated Booking and Reception team. You will be based at our Centenary House and Becton site reception, book appointments, , and provide exceptional service to our patients, families, and colleagues.

About You

We're looking for a compassionate, and organised person with experience in administration or reception. You'll thrive in a team environment, feel comfortable working directly with the public, and be ready to support a busy clinical team. GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths are essential.

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a difference in our CAMHS administration team and we'd love to hear from you if you think you'll be a great addition to CAMHS.

Main duties of the job

Reporting into the Reception/Booking Supervisor, your responsibilities will include:

  • Book and manage appointments according to Trust standards.

  • Engage with patients, visitors, and staff, demonstrating empathy and professionalism

  • Perform administrative tasks, including , sorting post, booking rooms, and scanning documents.

  • Handle phone calls, emails, and book services such as interpreters and transport.

  • Greet visitors and provide necessary information at the reception desk.

  • Provide support for other roles during absence and suggest improvements for service delivery.

  • Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent (Maths and English level 3 or equivalent)
  • Proficient in both literacy and numeracy

Desirable

  • Customer Care

Experience

Essential

  • Clerical and or reception work experience gained from working within a public facing environment
  • Experience of working in a team environment.
  • Experience of working with the general public

Desirable

  • Significant clerical and or reception experience gained within the NHS - ideally a patient administration department within a hospital setting.
  • Previous experience of appointment booking

Knowledge and Skills

Essential

  • Competent keyboard / IT skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure

Desirable

  • Experience of using modules of the Patient Administrative System, in particular SystmOne
  • Working knowledge of hospital administrative processes and practices
  • Knowledge of 18 week referral to treatment standards
