Permanent | 15 hours per week | Open to SCH internal applicants only
We are looking for an experienced and dynamic person to join our busy and diverse Outpatient Department, which operates across multiple sites including the Acute Site, Northern General Hospital (NGH), Ryegate Children's Centre, Centenary House, and NCCHT (from Summer 2026).
You will help oversee a range of clinics from different specialties, ensuring the smooth running of services such as bloods, plaster room, dressings, and other essential activities. You will work with the current Department Manager and collaborate with the Head of OPD and administrative teams to deliver high-quality, efficient care across all locations.
What you'll bring to the role:

Registered Nurse with experience in paediatric nursing

ENB 998 or equivalent teaching and assessing qualification

Proven leadership and team management skills

Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
Main duties of the job
Reporting into the Head of Nursing, your responsibilities will include:

Help manage a large, diverse workforce across multiple outpatient sites

Oversight of clinic flow and service delivery to ensure efficiency and high-quality care

Strategic planning and involvement in departmental projects

Financial and budgetary oversight
-
Professional development and leadership of the clinical team

Daily monitoring of workload and workforce resources

Assessment, planning, and implementation of care programmes
