Job summary

Permanent | Full-time

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Administrator to join our dynamic Gastroenterology team. You will help support the delivery of outstanding care for children, young people and their families across outpatient and inpatient settings.

What you'll bring:

You will be an experienced and organised administrator with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You'll be comfortable dealing with sensitive situations in a calm and caring manner and have the initiative to manage your workload. Essential qualifications and experience include:

  • RSA Stage II typing/word processing or equivalent experience

  • GCSE English Language (Grade C or above) or equivalent

  • Previous administration and secretarial experience

  • IT and data entry skills

Main duties of the job

Reporting into the Office Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Gastroenterology and Nutrition nursing team

  • Coordinate daily activities with nurses to ensure smooth service delivery

  • Book, update, and amend Medical Day Care appointments

  • Liaise sensitively with patients and families, including those who may be distressed

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records

  • Manage the administration of homecare prescriptions for gastroenterology patients
