We are looking for a Clinical Psychologist to join our Specialist CAMHS team within the Safeguarding Support Unit (SSU). This psychology-led service offers specialist assessment, formulation, intervention, and multi-agency consultation for children and families involved in child protection processes. The SSU also hosts the South Yorkshire paediatric Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC) and provides Child Protection medicals.
Our team supports complex cases, often involving trauma, attachment, and neurodevelopmental needs. We work with children and young people up to age 18, alongside their families and carers, offering individualised, trauma-informed care. Your role will involve multi-agency liaison and active contribution to Child Protection processes.
About You:

Doctoral-level training in Clinical Psychology and HCPC registration

Skilled in working with individuals and families where complex trauma, intergenerational factors, and neurodivergence are present

Comfortable managing emotionally intense material and providing psychological interventions in challenging contexts

Main duties of the job
Reporting into the Principal Clinical Psychologist, your responsibilities will include:

Conduct specialist psychological assessments for complex cases, using psychological and neuropsychological tests, structured observations, and interviews with clients, families, and other professionals.

Implement psychological treatment plans based on evidence-based approaches, addressing complex trauma, attachment issues, and neurodevelopmental factors.

Provide psychological interventions for individuals, families, and groups, adjusting approaches based on the evolving needs of the case.

Offer multi-agency consultation and collaboration, ensuring the coordination of care and contributing to Child Protection processes.

- Doctoral level training in clinical psychology, including specifically models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics and neuropsychology, two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology as accredited by the BPS
- Experience - in addition to a single training placement - of clinical work with children and families with healthcare needs
- Registration with HCPC as a clinical psychologist (or other domain title as agreed).
Desirable
- Pre-qualification training and qualifications in research methodology, staff training and/or other fields of applied psychology
