Student Nursing Associate (Internal)

The closing date is 22 June 2025

Job summary

Apprenticeship | Full-time | SCH internal applications only - Interviews 7th July.

We are delighted to offer an exciting training opportunity in partnership with The University of Sheffield to become a Nursing Associate. This is a fantastic career development pathway, leading to a nationally recognised Level 5 Foundation Degree qualification. You will combine academic learning with hands-on clinical experience within Sheffield Children's NHS Foundation Trust and other partner healthcare settings.

This programme is designed to develop your existing healthcare skills while introducing the broader scope of nursing associate responsibilities. Throughout the apprenticeship, you will work under supervision and gradually progress toward delivering care following defined care plans and the professional scope of practice.

Training will commence on 6 October 2025.

  • You must have the right to work in the UK, with no restrictions that would expire before the end of the contract.

  • You must not already hold a qualification at a higher level in the same subject area.

  • You must have been a UK or EU resident for the last 3 years

Main duties of the job

Reporting to the Staff Nurse, you will:

  • Be employed as a Band 3 Student Nursing Associate throughout the duration of the programme.

  • Undertake a structured programme of study (Level 5 Foundation Degree) delivered by The University of Sheffield.

  • Develop skills aligned with the national Nursing Associate role, working progressively toward independent care delivery.

  • Participate in academic modules, skills assessments, and workplace competencies as set out by the training provider.
