An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our dedicated Paediatric Radiology Department. We are the regional paediatric tertiary care trauma centre, providing a full spectrum of medical, surgical, and mental health services for children across Sheffield, South Yorkshire, and beyond.

You will lead the daily operations of our Paediatric Imaging team, with a focus on patient safety, comfort, and imaging excellence, while managing workflow and promoting clinical best practice. Working within a collaborative environment, you will help drive service improvements, enhancing both operational efficiency and patient care.

About You:

  • Postgraduate qualification in X-ray/CT or equivalent experience, and HCPC registration

  • Experience performing general and complex imaging procedures, including X-ray and CT

  • Knowledge of radiography and experience managing care for children and young people within the specialty

Main duties of the job

You will report to the Radiology Manager, and your responsibilities will include:

  • Support and deputise for the Imaging Lead in managing the X-ray/CT Department.

  • Help ensure the safe delivery of X-ray services, including general X-ray, CT, DEXA, fluoroscopy, mobile imaging/theatres, and EOS imaging.

  • Develop the trauma imaging service in collaboration with radiologists, A&E, ICU, and other healthcare professionals.

  • Lead major trauma Plain Film and CT radiography, providing guidance to the team.

  • Be a Radiation Protection Supervisor (RPS), ensuring compliance with regulatory and safety guidelines.

  • Educated to degree level, supplemented by postgraduate training/experience and continued professional development, to Master's level or equivalent.

  • Leadership/management qualification or willingness to work towards
