We're excited to offer an opportunity to join our Epilepsy Nurse team at Sheffield Children's, where you'll support children and young people with epilepsy, along with their families, schools, colleges, and other professionals.
As part of our experienced team, you'll provide advice, support, and information through clinics (both face-to-face and telephone/video consultations).
We're looking for someone with great communication skills, who excels in a multidisciplinary team environment. If you're passionate about delivering epilepsy education and supporting patients across different settings, we'd love to hear from you!
Main duties of the job
Reporting into the Lead Nurse for Epilepsy, your responsibilities will include:

After a period of training, deliver nurse-led clinics, including new patient, adolescent, RHH transition (with jointly with adult nurses), rescue medication, and VNS battery check clinics.

Provide epilepsy education and training to CYP, families, education professionals, and clinical staff on seizure management, rescue medications, and safety/lifestyle advice.

Respond to advice line messages and emails from CYP, families, educational professionals, healthcare staff, and the wider MDT.

Support CYP and families during the transition from children's to adult services.

Support patients in consultant clinics, including Epilepsy reviews, Ketogenic Diet therapy, and Surgery clinics.

Collaborate with other epilepsy teams locally and beyond to ensure coordinated care.
