Job summary

The team at Sapphire Lodge are looking for a band 6 Occupational Therapist to work 3 days a week, who has a passion for working with young people and families and experience working in mental health settings. They would join the multidisciplinary team to provide person centred assessments and treatment for young people receiving inpatient care for a variety of mental health presentations, sometimes with additional neurodevelopmental conditions.

The post holder will be working with a team of Mental Health Nurses, Doctors, Psychologists, Social Workers and other Allied Health Professionals to provide assessment, individual therapy and group interventions. You will receive regular managerial and clinical supervision and will be working within a team that is committed to ongoing professional development.

The post holder will also work closely with OT colleagues, to support the continued development of the occupational therapy service for inpatient CAMHS, and offer clinical supervision to junior and/or unqualified members of the team.

22.5 hours per week.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for providing specialist occupational therapy assessments and therapeutic treatment programmes for the young people on their caseload, and to contribute towards discharge planning. They will be expected to communicate effectively with the young people and their key family members, the wider MDT, and a variety of other agencies involved in the young people's care.

As the senior OT on Sapphire Lodge, the post holder would also be expected to coordinate the distribution of clinical work to junior and unqualified members of the OT team.

Essential

  • HCPC Registration
  • Degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Evidence of CPD maintained in a portfolio including attendance at recent, relevant postgraduate courses and in-service training
  • Post-graduate training in Sensory Integration
  • Portfolio evidence of reflective practice

Desirable

  • Membership of BAOT
  • Post-Graduate qualification in Sensory Integration

Experience
