An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, hard working individual to join the team as a housekeeper on Ward 4 at Sheffield Children's Hospital.
In a 4 Week set Rota:
Wk 1 - Tues, Thurs, Fri.
Wk 2 - Weds, Fri, Sat, Sun.
Wk 3 - Tues, Thurs, Fri.
Wk 4 - Weds, Fri, Sat, Sun.
Ward 4 is a busy 20 bed medical ward within Sheffield Children's Hospital. We currently care for children between the ages of 0-18 years with a wide range of medical conditions.
During the Winter time we primarily care for younger children with a range of respiratory viruses.
Responsibilities for this post include ensuring a high standard of cleanliness in both patient and non-patient areas, ensuring adequate stock levels, monitoring and ordering supplies as necessary. Ordering patient's food and providing patients with meals, drinks and snacks as requested.
The successful candidates will need excellent communication and organisational skills and will be able to work well with all members of the multidisciplinary team to enable everyone to provide excellent care to patients and families.
Main duties of the job
Responsibilities for this post include ensuring a high standard of cleanliness in both patient and non-patient areas, ensuring adequate stock levels, monitoring and ordering supplies as necessary. Collecting and delivering pharmacy supplies and collecting patient food/snack boxes, along with providing patients with drinks and snacks as requested.
You should possess excellent communication and organisational skills and be able to work well with all members of the multidisciplinary team to enable everyone to provide excellent care to patients and families.
- To help maintain a high standard of family centred care by providing a safe and suitable environment and that shortfalls are dealt with quickly and efficiently.
- To work in partnership with staff and parents to try and adapt the environment in order to meet any diverse and special environmental needs
- To support in a non clinical way those who provide direct patient care.
- To co-ordinate services provided by the Estates and Facilities and will work closely with support services departments.
- To monitor quality standards in the role of Ward Housekeeper, report deficiencies and take appropriate action.
- To meet specific tasks for individual patient needs as will be determined by the nurse-in charge.
