This post will primarily focus on the delivery of research trials and studies within the Clinical Research Facility but will also support studies being undertaken across the Trust. With the complexity of clinical trials increasing and more specialties becoming research active this is an opportunity to work with different teams within and external to the trust and offer children and young people the opportunity to take part in exciting clinical research.

Main duties of the job
We will provide excellent opportunities for professional development. You will be responsible for assessing and managing the care pathways for patients and carers participating in clinical trials.
This will involve the recruitment, education and monitoring of research participants and the collection and documentation of accurate data.

- Degree or Diploma Level Education as Registered Nurse, Midwife, AHP or Graduate with degree in subject relevant to clinical research and research experience
- Have training in or be willing to undertake training in Good Clinical Practice and other relevant courses as required for the conduct of research in the NHS
- Good understanding and awareness of the National Institute of Health Research and how research in the UK is supported
- Evidence of continuing professional development
Desirable
- Teaching, Mentoring and Assessors qualification
- Higher level of qualification (MSc / PhD) in a relevant clinical / scientific discipline
- Training in taking Informed Consent in clinical research
- Clinical skills: Venepuncture and Cannulation, ECG, lung function tests etc.

- Significant work experience (at least 3 years post registration experience for nurses and midwives)
- Recent experience working with patients/children and planning and delivering their care
