Job summary

We are looking for two Band 6 RMN nurses to cover maternity leave within the STAR team and we are offering an opportunity to experience working in the team for a 12 month fixed period/or when the employee returns, whichever come first.

Main duties of the job

The STAR team offer assessments in Sheffield Children's A&E department, for young people in crisis, and we are expanding and developing our home treatment service. We have an excellent and welcoming MDT team, offering specialist assessment and interventions to children and young people in Sheffield.

We aim to deliver a first class, and high quality service. To do this, we are making improvements to ensure there is the investment in staff by offering excellent supervision and training to deliver the first class service we want for children and young people visiting our services. The STAR team provide assessments for young people that present at the Sheffield Children's NHS foundation trust, primarily with a presentation of self harm and/or suicidal ideation. Additionally we also provide Community intensive treatment care and follow up care for young people who are in a mental health crisis and work alongside our community CAMHS colleagues to support families often in the home environment.

  • A levels
