An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the e-Systems team at Sheffield Children's NHS Foundation Trust as a Ward Clerk.

A key member of the Ward Clerk Team and the overall e-Systems Team, you will provide a comprehensive clerical and support service to the wards. Ward Clerks are a key component to the wards, who excel in providing efficient support to each other, the staff on the ward and the service. Communication and sharing knowledge with each other helps to improve the team's efficiency and quality of work, together with the respect and support given to each other to achieve a common goal.
You will be able to work as part of a busy team, work independently, work to unpredictable working patterns, and be able to work to conflicting and challenging deadlines.
Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for providing administrative support to the ward. This will involve the use of several different systems that assist in providing this service including Evolve, Careflow and Bluespier. Communication is a key component to this role and will support in the effective running of the service. As Ward Clerks are often the first point of contact, an empathic understanding towards others is a vital skill that is required for this role.
As the role can often be met with emotional demands it is essential for you to acknowledge your own health & wellbeing as well as that of your colleagues. Initiative is a primary skill required for this role as you will be expected to be flexible and reliable working closely with Ward Managers and nursing staff to ensure that the ward operates to provide the continuity for patient care.

The main purpose of this role is to provide a front desk service on our Medical Day care and provide a non-clinical support to the unit. The role will also provide note preparation stage, preparing physical files for clinical staff to document a patient's visit and admissions and discharge procedures for patients. The role will also require liaising with other teams and processing bookings for future appointments.
We are seeking someone who is conscientious, able to work with ambiguity by problem solving and keen to work in a fast -paced environment.
