Children's Therapies

This is an excellent opportunity to develop and extend your specialist skills in working with children and young people with a range of Speech, Language and communication needs. The exact combination of sessions will be dependent on successful applicant's skills, experience and service priorities. Job plans are reviewed at least annually in line with personal preferences and service needs.

Main duties of the job

The post is a specialist post within the paediatric SALT teams which are part of the wider Children's Therapy service. The team work within core hours of 8am and 6pm Monday to Friday. The team includes administration support, co-workers and speech and language therapists.

The post will be based at CDC , Airedale Hospital, but will provide Speech and Language therapy across the Trust geography in North and West Yorkshire .

sessions will include :

  • Local authority commissioned sessions in resourced mainstream school provisions for pupils with Autism/ SEMH in partnership with Bradford District Care Trust Speech and Language Therapy service
  • Airedale Child Development team - SEND provision (including eating drinking and swallowing appropriate to post holder competency level)

These posts are supported by a team of speech and language therapists, including clinical team leads, clinical support workers and administration staff. There will be numerous opportunities to work with other allied health professionals and agencies

Our Children's Therapies service ( SALT/OT/Physio) is operationally managed by the Children's Therapies Manager/ SALT professional lead and is part of the allied health professions workforce for Airedale NHS Foundation Trust led by a Chief AHP
