An exciting opportunity has arisen for Advanced Clinical Practitioners to join the emergency department and urgent care team. Applicants must hold an MSc in Advanced Practice (or equivalent award), have evidence of Royal College of Emergency Medicine (RCEM) competencies, or be committed to undertake. The post holder will be registered as an Independent Prescriber.
Interested applicants must have significant experience at a senior level working within the emergency department clinical setting and have experience to support the ability to see and treat patient autonomously within an urgent care environment.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be based at Airedale NHS Foundation Trust with the Emergency Department under the Urgent Care directorate.
The Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) will use specialist knowledge and skills to provide healthcare independently to patients. The ACP is accountable for the total episode of care for patients with undiagnosed and undifferentiated conditions.
The post holder will be a qualified Advanced Clinical Practitioner and undertaking or have achieved the Royal College of Emergency Medicine (RCEM) ACP competencies.
The post holder will act as a role model, delivering advanced practice and promoting clinical effectiveness in care. He/she will be required to work autonomously in delivering independent assessment, clinical examination, diagnosis, clinical decision making and planning of care and treatment, diagnosis, prescribing, health promotion and safe discharge of patients.
The job holder will work as an autonomous practitioner within a defined clinical area, delivering all aspects of management and care to a wide range of patients with varying needs. They will work closely with all members of the multidisciplinary team and will play an integral role in the operational/strategic development of the service.
