An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Advance Biomedical Scientist to joint the Clinical Chemistry teams at Airedale General Hospital and Bradford Royal Infirmary.
Integrated Pathology Solutions LLP is an innovative joint-venture pathology service between Airedale NHS Foundation Trust, Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust. This partnership delivers a high quality pathology service through collaboration between three Trusts for the benefit of patient and service users.
Airedale Hospital is located on the edge of the Yorkshire dales, with good transport links surrounding areas. Steeton and Silsden train station is located a short walk from the Hospital, and offers direct train links to Leeds, Bradford and Skipton.
Main duties of the job
The role will form a key part of the Cross site Chemistry senior team, working with the Section mangers to harmonise and improve processes across the department, particularly related to EQA and IQC processes. The successful candidate will need significant experience working within an Clinical Chemistry laboratory, preferably at Advanced Biomedical Scientist level.
This role will include leadership and staff management responsibilities such as carrying out appraisals, and experience of these areas will be an advantage.
The successful candidate will be required to provide leadership in all sections within the chemistry department. These areas include chemistry and, immunology, along with specialist areas such as electrophoresis and serology.
The department utilises a range of automated and semi-automated equipment across both sites, including Beckman AU, DXI and automation systems.
Candidates will need to be enthusiastic, well-motivated and innovative, with good organisational and practical abilities supported by well-developed interpersonal and communication skills and an ability to support individual and team working.
