Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic individuals to join our phlebotomy team. We are looking for people with a positive can-do attitude, who can demonstrate this through behaviours and commitment to the role. Someone who has a passion for patient care and can both work as part of a team, and on their own when the situation requires it.
Applicants must be reliable, flexible and be able to work effectively under pressure with excellent communication skills and a good command of the English language.
Previous phlebotomy healthcare experience is desirable but not essential.
Applicants must be able to drive and fulfil the travel requirements of the role. The role will include cover on the wards and the OP clinic at Airedale General Hospital and the Phlebotomy clinics held at Keighley Health Centre and Skipton General Hospital.
Working hours will Monday-Sunday, between the hours of 08.15 and 17.45 covering various shifts depending on the needs of the service. Flexibility in working hours will be necessary, sometimes at short notice to respond to changes in service demands.
Rotational bank holiday working will also be required.
Weekends and Bank holidays shifts will receive an additional payment.
Main duties of the job
The main duties will be to collect blood samples from patients on the hospital wards, in clinics, outpatient departments and various sites in the community.
