Job summary

We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic person to work as part of the MDT to deliver patient assessment and treatment of the highest clinical standard within the Acute Medicine and SDEC Service.

Supporting the development of high quality, effective and efficient services through the application of change management and continuous quality improvement skills.

Main duties of the job

Maintenance of the highest clinical standards in the management of patients.

To share with colleagues responsibility for the day-to-day management of Acute Medicine and the Same Day Emergency Care Service

Teaching and training of junior staff and medical students.

To actively participate in both departmental and Trust matters concerning Clinical Governance and audit.

To have responsibility for ensuring active participation in continuing professional development (CPD).

  • Entry on GMC Specialist Register or eligible for entry within 6 months of receipt of CCT at the time of interview
  • Success in Intercollegiate Specialty Examination or equivalent

Desirable

  • Completed fellowship programme
  • ALS

Teaching

  • Willingness to participate in undergraduate and post graduate teaching

Clinical Experience

Essential

  • Experience requisite to meeting all aspects of the job plan
  • Ability to maintain clinical credibility and authority with a multi-professional team
