We're searching for a friendly, motivated individual to join our team of Ophthalmic Technicians at Harrogate District NHS Foundation Trust. You will play a key role in delivering safe, high-quality care within our glaucoma assessment and monitoring service and our retinal imaging clinics.

No previous experience? No problem! We'll provide full training and ongoing support to help you develop the technical skills and knowledge required.

Main duties of the job

The main duties of the job are to undertake ophthalmic technician duties including (but not limited to)o Visual acuity assessmento Computerised visual field assessmento Retinal imaging o Measurement of intraocular pressure o Measurement of spectacles using the automated focimeter o Instillation of eye dropsAdditional duties includeo To use patient management systems and electronic patient record systems appropriatelyo To undertake administrative tasks associated with the role, following departmental guidelines and procedures.o To contribute to the efficient running of all clinicso To ensure safe use and maintenance of all equipmento To demonstrate ophthalmic technician duties to others and to assist in training new staffo To ensure compliance with policies and procedures of the trusto To contribute to service development
