Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join our Community Neurology Team based at Harrogate District Hospital. This post is advertised as 0.4wte (15 hours) but there may be potential for additional hours.
The Community SLT team at Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust provides specialist care for communication and swallowing patients in their own homes, care home settings and in outpatient clinics across Harrogate and the Hambleton & Richmondshire regions.

Supported by a team of Band 8, Band 7, Band 6's, SLT Assistants and the wider MDT, the post holder will have the opportunity to demonstrate specialist knowledge and skills working across a community neurology adult caseload.
You will also gain exposure and access to our weekly instrumental assessment services, including Videofluoroscopy and FEES. We are a forward thinking and innovative team with a strong focus on well-being in the work place.
Main duties of the job
- Assessment and treatment of adult patients with communication and swallowing needs in the community (including domiciliary visits)
- Working closely within MDTs and with the wider SLT team

The post will enable you to continue to develop your specialist skills within a supportive team structure, with regular supervision

Providing support, supervision and training of junior SLTs and/or SLT assistants as required
