Job summary
To provide leadership and strategic vision for particular workstreams as needed across the Harrogate & Rural and Hambledon & Richmondshire areas of Paediatric Speech and Language Therapy (SaLT).
To take a lead in developing effective joined up working with our education partners in the Local Authority.
To review and develop care pathways with Principal SaLT to ensure most effective use of resources in the current climate of increasing referral rates.
To carry a specialist clinical caseload in Speech and Language Therapy within the department providing specialist advice and training to others.
To undertake audit as required.
Main duties of the job
Clinical Duties
o To be responsible for a duty of care to children and young people with Speech, Language and Communication needs within nurseries and schools in Harrogate and Rural area and Hambledon and Richmondshire with SLCN needs.o To gather relevant complex information to inform assessment.o To administer specific recognised assessments.o To analyse the information to select the most appropriate assessment methods and environments.o To carry out specialist assessment with children and young people. To interpret assessment findings and write reports.o To communicate sensitive and complex information in written and verbal format.o To write and maintain up to date EHCPs for clients.o To write clear and evidence based care plans/targets for clients.o To provide second opinions when requiredo To support more junior staff clinically when required.
