Job summary

To be responsible for the day-to-day running of podiatry service clinics (in both primary and secondary care settings), hospitals, and health centres, GP surgeries, residential care homes, patient own homes.

Main duties of the job

To work as part of a team or single handed, as skills develop, liaising with appropriate members of the Podiatry teams, Primary Health Care teams, and Secondary Health Care teams; particularly in relation to service delivery and patient care.

To be responsible for the day-to-day running of podiatry service clinics (in both primary and secondary care settings), hospitals, and health centres, GP surgeries, residential care homes, patient own homes.

To have highly developed physical skills, precision hand / eye co-ordination for prolonged periods in order to provide specialist podiatry care for patients

To assess, diagnose, develop and implement individualised care plans for patients with a wide variety of clinical needs, including acute or chronic neuropathies, chronic diseases, and vascular problems and wound management.

The post holder will also be expected to plan and manage their own caseload, which will later include providing specialist care for patients with diabetes, rheumatological and biomechanical problems, as skills develop.
