Job summary

The post holder will provide high quality administrative support within the LTUCC (Long Term, Unscheduled and Cancer Care) directorate across the Trust.

The role requires effective communication with patients, relatives, the public, and a wide range of multi-professional staff, both internal and external to the Trust. A flexible approach and the ability to manage a high volume of varied tasks are essential.

The Clerical Officer is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely entry of patient information onto the Patient Administration System (PAS), in line with real time data entry standards. All duties must be carried out in accordance with Trust policies and procedures on data collection and confidentiality.

LTUCC delivers a broad range of medical services across multiple clinical areas, including Endoscopy and Outpatient settings.

Main duties of the job

The administrative office is a busy and integral service that supports the delivery of safe and timely patient care. The team manages and validates patient waiting lists across a wide range of pathways within HDFT, including inpatient and outpatient appointments, surveillance pathways, and follow-up care. In addition, the team provides reception cover and responds to patient enquiries.

The administrative office works closely with clinicians, nursing staff, and the wider multi-disciplinary team, while maintaining strong links with other departments across the Trust to ensure services are delivered efficiently and in line with Trust policies and standards.

The successful post holder will be based primarily within the Endoscopy department, with flexibility to support patient pathway administration for other services within LTUCC when required.
