Macmillan Specialist Oncology Dietitian

Harrogate Nutrition & Dietetic department is a supportive, friendly department of 23 staff based at Harrogate District Hospital. We provide a dietetic service across both acute and community settings.

We now have a vacancy for an enthusiastic, innovative dietitian with oncology experience to provide the dietetic service to the Sir Robert Ogden Macmillan Centre, which is on the hospital site.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will work within the cancer MDT to support patients living with cancer. This will involve delivering high quality care to patients requiring nutrition support at diagnosis, during and after cancer treatment. This includes people receiving palliative and best supportive care.

Essential

  • Recognised degree or post graduate qualification in Human Nutrition & Dietetics
  • UK Registered Dietitian with the Health and Care Professions Council for minimum of 1 year
  • Member of the British Dietetic Association or other professional indemnity insurance

Experience

Essential

  • Minimum of 2 year post registration dietetic experience in a healthcare setting
  • Experience of working with cancer patients with a range of diagnoses
  • Experience of working with patients undergoing Systemic Anti-Cancer Treatment

Desirable

  • Experience of working with people requiring palliative or best support care
  • Knowledge and experience of Therapy Outcome Measures (TOMs)
