Specialty Doctor in Gastroenterology - 12 months Fixed Term
10 PAs per week
We are seeking to recruit an experienced Specialty Doctor in Gastroenterology.
The successful applicant will join a team of 5 Consultants, and 1 Specialist Doctor based at Harrogate District Hospital, you will be part of a team to deliver a wide range of acute and elective Gastroenterology services. The department prides itself on team working and close collaboration with clinical colleagues to provide a high quality gastroenterology service. The successful applicant would be expected to hold MBChB or equivalent medical qualification. All applicants must hold current GMC registration
Main duties of the job
To deliver appropriate clinical care to elective patients with consultant support by working in clinics, endoscopy etc.
To provide appropriate clinical care to acute patients with consultant support.
To take an active role in departmental quality improvement and audit programmes.

Experience/Qualifications
Essential
- Full GMC registration
- MBChB or equivalent medical qualification
- Evidence of achievement of Foundation competencies by time of appointment in line with GMC standards in Good Medical Practice.
- Evidence of achievement of ST3/CT3 competences in a relevant specialty by the start date of the post.
- Intermediate level skills in Gastroenterology
Desirable
- SCE in Gastroenterology
- Significant experience of GI Endoscopy within a JAG-accredited unit, including independent practice in at least one modality (evidenced via application form)
