You must have the ability to communicate effectively and be flexible within the existing shift system and have an appreciation of the principles of confidentiality.

Working under the direct supervision and guidance of the midwife, you must be a team player, responsible for providing a wide range of care and duties to support women and their families.

This certificate ensures the minimum standards for the role are met and further training will be given to ensure completion of the Level 3 'skills passport' within a given timeframe. Opportunities will be available to employees to further develop their skills and education to band 3 level.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a development role and you are expected to meet the requirements of a band 3 Maternity Support Worker within 12-18 months from commencing employment.
