Job summary

The post holder will support the delivery of the 18 Weeks standard within the Planned, Surgical and Children's Care Directorate. They will work closely with the senior operations team to support capacity and demand planning and managing the implications for compliance with the RTT standards.

Good communication skills and being able to work with all levels of staff are crucial, with the ability to remain calm under pressure to meet deadlines.

Reporting to the Service Manager the post-holder will work to operationally manage the delivery of service key to delivery of elective medicine with some flexibility to support urgent care and cancer services as required.

Duties will include monitoring pathways in identified specialties, operational managing delays which impact on achievement of RTT, engaging with clinical staff to ensure job plans are effective and activity is managed in a timely manner, reporting performance data at relevant forums and supporting the senior team to produce relevant reports and updates.

Main duties of the job

  • Responsible for highlighting exceptions and issues of concern, as appropriate, to appropriate levels within the Trust (whether that be operational service level or senior management).
  • Work closely with Information Services to support development of appropriate reporting.
  • Provide training and communication in relation to capacity and demand modelling / planning and RTT, including developing and maintaining guidance documentation for staff.
  • Responsible for implementing the Trusts Elective Activity Policy as it applies to medicin
