An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our dynamic Finance team at Harrogate and District NHS FT for a Finance Assistant to sit under the System Accountant.
The post covers all Finance System related duties alongside the financial salary sacrifice schemes within Harrogate and District Foundation Trust. The post holder will be working in a small team within the trust.

Main duties of the job
Provide support to the Finance System Accountant and facilitate the production of a variety of information appropriate to the needs of the organisation.
To manage the finance Salary Sacrifice scheme, been the finance point of contact for NHS Fleet Solutions and to complete any month end / closedown tasks.
To support other members of the team in the use of the system, providing training and developing training documents.
To challenge the status quo in order to advise, propose and implement changes in systems for financial control and financial management.
To look after the up keep of the Oracle Financial System, NEP Reach Reporting and Planning and Budgeting Cloud System.

To manage HDFT chart of accounts, input interface journals, update the approval Hierarchy and keep the authorisation signature list up to date.
Keep the monthly budget reports updated in a timely manner and updated in line with the current Trust procedures and analyse any discrepancies.
To ensure accurate coding of all expenditure within the financial ledger to maintain the integrity of the financial reports.
to support and facility the Purchase Order process Salary Sacrifice schemes for NHS Fleet Solutions (Or other applicable organisations)
To manage and maintain the Salary Sacrifice scheme finance documents including the month end accruals/prepayments.
To facilitate and support colleagues on queries that come into the Salary Sacrifice inbox, providing advice and guidance.
To lead on in house systems training and associated guidance for users.
To work as part of a flexible and multi-skilled team to ensure all operational and project work is completed within given deadlines in the most efficient manner. There will be time where you will be required to work on your own and use your initiative to ensure best practice for the Trust.
