Aseptic Services is an exciting part of the Pharmacy Department where we provide a range of medicines which are prepared in a clean room environment following Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)
We are looking for a highly motivated individual who is looking for a challenge. Although we are not patient facing, the work we do and the products we prepare are critical to the patients we supply them to in the hospital.
After completing the comprehensive training programme, you will work closely with your team mates in a clean room environment.
No experience is necessaryas full training is provided.
Main duties of the job
To assemble items for aseptic dispensing.
To label and bag aseptic products for distribution to wards and clinics.
To respond appropriately to urgent requests from wards / units.
To dispense drugs for in-patients and out-patients including cytotoxic chemotherapy.
To store aseptic drugs correctly and safely.
To participate in daily, weekly and monthly cleaning processes.
To monitor and maintain records of room, isolator and refrigerator conditions.
To undertake six-monthly validation tests within the aseptic unit
To work cost effectively with expensive drugs.
To assist in the maintenance of reliable records and documentation
