An exciting opportunity has arisen within theadministration team in the Adult Speech and Language Therapy department. You will work closely with the other members of theadminteam, speech and language therapists and assistants. Therolewill involveadminsupport for both clinical and non-clinical work, including for example dealing with outpatient queries, ward queries, taking minutes and processing referrals. You will forge positive working relationships with the team by being present in the office.

Main duties of the job

  • Ensure entry and secure storage of all data
  • Provideadminsupport and maintain databases/records
  • Assistance with the production of agendas and minute taking
  • Supporting clinicians and assistants with theadministration required for patients
  • Receive and deal with telephone enquiries on behalf of the speech and language therapy team
  • Arrange meetings, including booking venues as required for both internal and external meetings
  • Maintain supplies to include stock and non-stock check off and put away after delivery
  • Scanning and photocopying

Job responsibilities

  • To support the Adult SLTs in clerical administration of patients.
  • Assists the Team Leaders in reviewing current systems within the department, ensuring that any necessary changes enhancing service provision are undertaken.
  • Provides effective communication, maintaining excellent inter-personal skills when dealing with patients and members of staff at all levels within the Trust.
  • Ensures accurate data input, updating patient demographic details where necessary on the current computerised patient administration system. Ensure all data is current and accurate.
  • To collate and produce performance data reports as required.
  • To maintain a database of all loan AAC devices.
  • Preparation for speech and language therapy groups
  • To create low tech communication aids and communication passports as required.
  • Complies with the requirements of the Caldicott Report, the Data Protection Act, Access to Health Records Act and subsequent legislation issued in relation to computer retained data, preserving the confidentiality of patient identifiable data at all times.
  • To assist with training and induction of new members of staff.
