Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a part time Adult Special Care Dental Consultant to join our Community Dental Service. This post will work alongside our existing Special Care Specialists to provide specialised treatment to our patients.
This post is available for up to 8PA clinical sessions a week, but we would welcome applicants who wish to apply for less than 8PAs a week.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering high quality dental care and will have experience with patients with additional dental needs.
The Community Dental Service is a specialised service that provides dental treatment for patients, who, because of additional needs such as learning disabilities, physical disabilities or vulnerability, are unable to access general dental care.
Main duties of the job
Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust Community Dental Services seeks to recruit a permanent Consultant in Special Care Dentistry to support service delivery across North Yorkshire and York. The post holder will be responsible for delivery of high quality level 3 services, as well as supporting the service in delivery of level 2 Special Care Dentistry within a Community setting.
Subject to negotiation, clinical sessions may be delivered in Harrogate and York supporting our team of Specialists in Special Care dentistry and Senior Dental Officers. This highly equipped team have access to digital radiography, operating microscope, computer based records and is well integrated with both Harrogate and York acute hospital systems. In addition, treatment under conscious sedation is available in all areas and treatment sessions under general anaesthesia are delivered at 4 acute sites across the service in Northallerton, Scarborough, York and Harrogate.
