We are seeking a new Strategic Planning Manager to join our friendly team based within the Strategy and Planning Directorate at Harrogate District Hospital. This role helps deliver the strategic, capital and corporate planning agenda for the organisation.
The post holder will undertake general project management for a range of developments to improve the services and facilities provided by the Trust. As our portfolio of projects alters in line with annual planning each year, the post holder will have the opportunity to work on varied projects across all specialties and facilities.
There are opportunities to focus on developing your project management, business case development, annual planning or financial management skills, with possible opportunities in health care design, to tailor your career pathway.
Main duties of the job
The Strategic Planning Manager will lead the delivery of assigned projects through the scoping, planning and delivery stages. This will include writing business cases, chairing project meetings, writing project schedules and briefings, reviewing contract documentation and ensuring the brief is delivered to time, scope and budget.
In relation to capital planning projects, the post holder will be asked to lead the process to commission new facilities ensuring they are ready for operational use whilst maintaining reporting to Trust Boards and management groups. They will act as senior customer throughout capital projects representing clinical and operational users to ensure the agreed scheme objectives are delivered.
The post holder will manage the project budget forecasts, approvals and spend, and post project evaluations alongside HDFT Finance.
The Strategic Planning Manager will contribute to the Environment Strategy for the Trust at both the Harrogate District Hospital site and Community properties, shaping the provision of healthcare services for the future.
The post holder should have excellent communication and negotiation skills, as well as effective networking, analytical and facilitation skills. The post holder will also have extensive project management and change management experience and be IT literate.
