Job summary

The post holder will work within the NMC Code of Professional Conduct, trust policies, guidance and procedures to ensure safe working practice of self and others.

The post holder will need to demonstrate a genuine interest in Ophthalmology, working in all aspects of service provision in a variety of clinical settings

The post holder will be required to undertake training, demonstrate commitment to providing a high quality service and strong team working.

A flexible approach to work and the ability to multi-task are essential to the role.

Full time and part time posts are available covering a six day service, Monday - Friday, occasional Saturday working. Shift patterns between 8am and 6pm

The Ophthalmology Department at Harrogate and District Foundation Trust is a friendly and rewarding place to work. We are a highly motivated team with strong team ethics. Due to the increasing demand for our services and the plan for further service development this year we are looking to recruit and develop a team of highly skilled nurses.

All Nurses will be expected to perform visual acuity tests, OCT scanning, general observations, as well as training to work in the Nurse Run Services such as pre-assessment, angiography, biometry and preparing patients for various treatments/procedures

About us

Work as a member of the Ophthalmology services team and provide specialised nursing care for patients throughout the ophthalmic patient journey. This will include working across three sites which are Ophthalmic Pre-Op Assessment Clinic, General Outpatient clinic and the Intravitreal Service.
