Job summary
To assist in providing an efficient & effective procurement and supply service to the Trust in respect of goods and services ordered by the Trust supplies Department
To assist in a range of duties associated with the oracle cloud purchase order system.
To deal with users of the Supplies service in a professional & customer focussed manner. To act as an Ambassador for the Endoscopy Unit, Supplies Department with Trust colleagues, suppliers & external agencies.
Main duties of the job
Creation of purchase orders from end user electronic requisitions. To provide advice to end users as required on a range of procurement issues including; most appropriate supplier, contract, product, method of supply /distribution, price, value for money, delivery lead time.
Assisting end user requisitioners as required by verbally advising users or giving face to face training in how to operate the system.
Placing of orders for goods and services, ensuring the right goods are ordered from the right supplier at the right price to be delivered at the right time and to the right place.
To contribute to the Trust work plan by identifying & recording savings opportunities across the range of goods and services ordered by the Supplies Department.
To access and keep up to date with the contract opportunities available from a range of external agencies including the North of England Commercial Procurement Collaborative (NOECPC) ,NHS supply chain (NHSSC) and the Crown commercial service (CCS)
To develop productive ongoing relationships with users, suppliers & external agencies. To maintain regular contact with end users, suppliers and external agencies, developing knowledge of their requirements & provide relevant information as required. This may include face to face contacts in formal meetings as well as phone/email correspondence and informal contact.
