Our innovative and passionate Growing Healthy team in Sunderland 0-19 Service would like to invite your application to join them. We are seeking to recruit an individual to join the team in Screening and in Health Promotion within schools in Sunderland.
The Post holder will support delivery of the Healthy Child Programme, and have a key responsibility in undertaking the school health screening and surveillance programme, growth (National Child Measurement Programme), and Audiology screening where this is within the contract. They will play an integral part in supporting the delivery of Key Performance Indicators in relation to screening.
The post holder will work within the 0-19 (25) Integrated Delivery Team to promote the health and wellbeing of school age children so they are able to reach their full potential and not be disadvantaged through ill health.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work under the direction and supervision of the Specialist Public Health Practitioner.(SCPHN/Staff Nurse/ Family Health Nurse) Making Every Contact Count to enable the opportunistic delivery of consistent and concise healthy lifestyle information.Apply the principles of the Solihull approach in all work undertaken with children, young people and families.Apply the Best Start in Life principles where applicable.Undertake the vision and growth screening of children as per national guidance for school age screening and NCMP programmes.Support children through the process and liaise with parents when appropriate Refer on to specialist service in accordance with clinical pathways.Enter the data results onto the computer child health system asrequired.Report to Specialist Public Health Practitioner any irregularities detected or observed from screening and surveillance.
