There is an exciting opportunity to join Harrogate & District NHS FT's Planning Team on a 12 month fixed term secondment. The Senior Strategic Planning Manager leads on Annual Planning and the Capital Estates Programme for the Trust. This is a strategic role covering planning and capital, and leading the Planning Team to support delivery of the Trust's Strategy, including the ambition to provide "An environment that supports wellbeing".
Main duties of the job
The purpose of this post is to lead on Annual Planning and to manage the Capital Estates Programme. The principal responsibilities of the post are to:
- Annual Planning. Lead and coordinate the annual planning process to develop a coherent, coordinated Trust Annual Plan incorporating our strategic objectives, activity plan, workforce plan, capital (estates and digital) programme and finance.
- Estates Strategy. Supports the development of an Estates Strategy and Development Control Plan for the Trust.
- Annual Capital Planning. Manages the annual capital planning process, as part of the Trust's overall annual planning process. Liaises with clinical and operational teams, corporate teams and Harrogate Integrated Facilities (HIF) to identify and prioritise schemes, aligned with available capital funding. Seeks approval of the capital estates programme through Trust governance processes and groups.
- Capital Estates Programme. Monitors the delivery of the annual capital estates programme ensuring that projects are delivered within the agreed time and cost, and meet their user requirements, and that the overall programme is value for money and within the agreed funding envelope.
- Project Management. Leads the capital planning team to:
- manage capital estates projects during RIBA Stages 0-1 and 6-7,
- act as senior user during stages 2-5 to ensure that the project meets the needs of the clinical and operational users.
