**Internal HDFT Applicants Only**

We are seeking highly compassionate and caring individuals to join our Bank Ward Clerk team. You will need to be highly motivated, enthusiastic and organised to be able to thrive in this role.

Our Bank Ward Clerk team support the Planned and Surgical Care wards to provide a high level of consistent cover whilst substantive Ward Clerks are away from work.

We provide cover to our wards 7 days a week in a variety of shifts such as:

8am-8pm

8am-4pm

8am-12pm

4pm-8pm

We are very interested in hearing from individuals who are able to work a range of the shifts described above.

Main duties of the job

The role of Ward Clerk is very varied. Some of the key tasks include:

  • Being the first point of contact for patients, relatives and staff both face to face and on the telephone.
  • Maintaining patient case notes to an excellent standard.
  • Liaising with teams such as estates and porters to fulfill requirements for our wards and departments.
  • Supporting the clinical teams with admin duties to allow them to provide hands on patient care.
  • Updating and maintaining electronic inpatient records.
  • Arrange appropriate follow up appointments as required.
