Job summary
The post holder will coordinate the rota management of doctors across Long Term & Unscheduled Care Directorate (LTUC) through close liaison with all involved including consultants, GPs, junior doctors and management team.
This job involves working with and supporting the Deputy Service Manager ensuring adequate clinical cover is provided at all times. The post holder is expected to work accurately and under pressure with the ability to manage and prioritise their own workload and that of the department and anticipate and resolve problems expediently.
Main duties of the job
- compile and disseminate rotas for the directorate's medical staff and act as a single point of contact for the Clinicians.
- support for the GP, junior and middle grade medical staff within LTUC.
- co-ordinate GP, middle grade and junior medical staff's annual leave and arranging cover at short notice for sick leave and special leave in line with Trust policy.
- ensuring that the service is staffed appropriately
- setting up rigorous systems for the approval and monitoring of annual/study and sick leave
- compiling and designing of the departmental rotas across LTUC according to the needs of the directorate whilst ensuring rotas are working time directive and new deal compliant.
- First point of contact for all day-to-day issues affecting medical staff cover.
- Co-ordinate rota changes at all levels to ensure minimal impact on clinical care.
